They are made with soft neoprene inside wihile outside nylon and carbon fibers band provide an extra protection in case of impact. They are flexible but at the same time strong and really comfortable. 
The top edge is made with soft neoprene to prevent frictions. 
Easy to handle thanks to the dobuble velcro opening system and easy to wash. You can wash them in the washing machine at 30°C.
Suitable for all disciplines.
